Boatswain’s Mate Petty Officer First Class Nnamdi Okwuosa has honorably served in the United States Navy for 11 years, consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to duty. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held key roles aboard USS Monterey (CG-61), Navy Tactical Acquisition Group Golden Gate, and USS Portland (LPD-27). He currently serves as the Leading Petty Officer of the Deck Department aboard USS Portland, where he continues to lead with distinction and dedication.

During his tenure, Mr. Okwuosa has completed four overseas deployments, gaining invaluable experience in diverse operational environments and further enhancing his leadership capabilities.

Mr. Okwuosa’s personal decorations reflect his outstanding performance and dedication to the mission. His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award), Battle Effectiveness Ribbon (3rd award), Navy Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Navy Sea Service Ribbon (4th award), National Defense Service Medal, and qualifications as an Expert Marksman in both the pistol and rifle.

Beyond his naval service, he is passionate about improving access to life-saving healthcare for those in need. Through his involvement with the Africa Diaspora Health Foundation (ADHF), he actively contributes to initiatives aimed at delivering critical medical care to underserved communities, further exemplifying his commitment to making a positive impact both at home and abroad.
